Privacy Policy

Data We Collect

• Memory content: memory text entries you create.
• Photos and media: photos you attach to memories.
• Voice notes: audio recordings you attach to memories.
• Location data: optional location attached to a memory when you choose to add it.
• Contacts and relationships: legacy contact or shared-memory contact details only if you add or link them.
• Subscription and purchase status: entitlement and transaction state used to unlock paid features.
• Device diagnostics (if enabled): crash or performance diagnostics provided by Apple.

Data Security

• Local storage: Memory data is stored securely on your device.
• Apple sync services: When available and enabled, data may be synchronized through Apple services, including iCloud, with protections provided by Apple. Note that Apple cloud data is not end-to-end encrypted for all content types.
• Exports and sharing: When you export or share memories outside the app, the security of that data depends on the destination and method you choose.

How We Use Data

• Memory text, photos, voice notes, and location: stored on-device to run the app and, if you enable sync, synchronized through Apple services, including iCloud/CloudKit, under your Apple account. We do not currently host memory content on our own servers.
• Contacts (if linked): used to support legacy contact and shared-memory features you explicitly configure.
• Legacy settings and package details: if you enable the legacy feature, the selected recipient, package preferences, personal message, inactivity period, and reminder settings are used to manage reminders, display your settings, and help you prepare a legacy package for manual export or sharing.
• Shared content: shared only when you take a sharing action in-app or through Apple's share sheet. Note that exported or shared data may leave Apple's ecosystem and is subject to the privacy practices of the sharing destination.
• Subscription and purchase status: processed through StoreKit to validate, restore, and manage purchases.
• Diagnostics: used to identify bugs, improve stability, and troubleshoot support issues.

Third-Party Services and Sharing

• Apple iCloud/CloudKit: used only when you enable sync or other Apple-backed cloud features.
• Apple StoreKit: used for subscriptions, in-app purchases, and purchase restoration.
• No custom memory backend today: we do not currently operate our own servers to host memory content or perform automatic legacy delivery.
• No advertising SDKs: we do not integrate third-party ad networks for behavioral advertising.
• No data sale: we do not sell personal data from memories or related account data.
• Sharing destinations: when you share or export memories, the data may be transmitted to third-party services or apps you select. We do not control the privacy practices of these destinations.

Retention and Deletion

• Memory data: kept until you delete specific memories or remove the app data.
• Apple cloud data: retained in your Apple account until you delete memories in-app or delete app data from the relevant Apple cloud settings.
• Purchase records: billing records are retained by Apple under Apple's legal and accounting obligations.
• Diagnostics: retained only as long as needed for debugging and service reliability.
• How to delete data: you can delete memories inside the app, remove cloud data from iOS iCloud settings, and request account-related deletion via email.

User Rights and Requests

You can request access, correction, or deletion of personal data by emailing support@escapeplan.ae. We aim to acknowledge requests within 7 days and complete verified requests within 30 days, unless a longer period is required by law.

International Transfers and Jurisdiction

Your data may be processed in jurisdictions where Apple and its infrastructure operate. We rely on Apple's platform safeguards and applicable legal mechanisms for cross-border processing. This policy is governed by applicable laws of the jurisdiction of Escape Plan Developments FCZO, unless local law requires otherwise.

GDPR — Rights for Users in the European Economic Area

If you are located in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, you have the following rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or applicable local law:

• Access: request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Correction: request that inaccurate or incomplete data be corrected.
• Erasure ("right to be forgotten"): request deletion of your personal data where there is no compelling reason for its continued processing.
• Portability: request your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
• Restriction: request that we restrict processing of your data in certain circumstances.
• Objection: object to processing based on legitimate interests.
• Withdraw consent: where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting prior processing.

Our lawful basis for processing is performance of a contract (providing the app features you use) and legitimate interests (improving stability and security). We do not process special category data. To exercise any of these rights, email support@escapeplan.ae. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

CCPA — Rights for California Residents

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) grants you the following rights:

• Right to know: request disclosure of the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you.
• Right to delete: request deletion of personal information we have collected, subject to certain exceptions.
• Right to opt out of sale: we do not sell your personal information to third parties.
• Right to non-discrimination: we will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.

To submit a CCPA request, email support@escapeplan.ae with "CCPA Request" in the subject line. We will respond within 45 days.

Children's privacy

Memories Keeper is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Policy updates

Policy changes are posted on this page with an updated effective date. For material changes, we will provide additional notice in-app, on our website, or both before the change takes effect.
